Grilled Artichokes are a cinch to make!

Perfect summer grill, looks so good and tastes even better! Follow these easy directions and try it for yourself! Btw, you can use small artichokes or go for the big ones either way it works great! Also, I sometimes do it in 2 stages. I will cook the artichokes a day or two before the grill. When you do it in the same day leave some time for the artichokes to cool off before you prepare them to grill - they're easier to handle. This recipe is for 2 large artichokes.

Ingredients

2 Artichokes

1/2 cube Butter - melted

3 or 4 Garlic cloves - minced

1/2 cup Panko Crumbs

1/2 cup Parmesan Cheese - grated

1.5 tablespoons Tuscan Temptation

1 Lemon - optional

Prepare the artichokes for steaming by trimming the stem. Then using a serrated knife cut off the top 1/4 of the artichoke to remove the sharp points. With the leaves that remain use kitchen shears to cut the sharp tips off.

Steam the artichokes, (approximately 40 minutes) until you can easily pull a leaf out. Let cool. This step could be done a day or two ahead.

In the meantime melt the butter - add the garlic cloves and heat on low for 5 minutes to allow the garlic to flavor the butter. Let it sit while you steam the artichokes.

Next combine the Panko bread crumbs, the grated Parmesan cheese and the Tuscan Temptation.

Prepare for grilling Cut each artichoke in half. Place cut side down on a searing station or on a high flame to get some nice grill marks.

Once you have the nice grill marks remove them from the grill to a sheet pan. Drizzle the garlic butter on to the cut side. Also tip the artichoke up and pour into the leaves so the butter pours into the inner leaves. This step makes it extra yummy!

Then give them a good sprinkle of the bread crumb mixture. Place back on the grill - cut side up - and cook them for another 20 minutes or so.

Optionally you can drizzle with lemon before serving. Enjoy!
